Upon completion of this course will prepare the international student for regular Global English classes, other college writing assignments, and business writing in the marketplace; students will demonstrate the ability to do the following: • Write longer, more complex sentences incorporating the grammatical structures • Write an essay persuading someone about his or her point of view. • Applying, revising, and editing techniques to their own writing. • Demonstrate an understanding of the interrelationship among conjunctions, linking verbs, and transitional phrases. • The grammar component focuses on the adjective, adverbial, and noun clauses: complex structures by practicing writing more sophisticated formal essays in different academic modes: narration, comparison emphasizing revising and editing. • Students are exposed to aspects of statistical choices and sentence varieties to become an Etymologist (wordsmiths).
